Due to some computer complications here are the rest of my blogs...

Febuary- Agriculture Day
This day was a ton of fun. I learned more about farming then I ever would guessed. It was cool seeing all of the big tractors because my family is not in the farming business. I also liked the tour of the farm on the bus. It was very interesting and I liked see all of the cows. The Hormel tour was not my favorite though.

March- Government Day
This day was also a great time. It was awesome that we got to go to the power plant. I was so cool seeing how all of the power is made there with all of the different machines. The mock city council was entertaining. We got to actually be a part of something that our city does on a monthly basis. We could see how different things and decisions are made in this community.

April - Understanding Your Community
My favorite part about this day was the opera house. It incredible to think about how many different things and events that place has held, and its awesome to think that they are going to try and renovate it again. It was also cool to hear about all of the historic places and houses that Fremont has.

The power plant was fun to tour and it was cool to see how a city council meeting works from our view.

Agriculture and Government in Action Days

During the Agriculture Day I learned that agriculture runs the world.  The effect that agriculture has on the world is everywhere.  All of the people of the world have to eat something and agriculture provides all of the necessary food.  I was also informed that the amount of food in the world that agriculture can provide is getting less and less to feed the rising world population.

In the Government in Action Day I experienced how difficult and taxing being on a city council or being a mayor of a town.  I was surprised how the Fremont Power Plant operated.  It encouraged me how old and new technologies combine to provide the power for a community.  The work that the city council members and the mayor put in to the community was shocking to me.

Agriculture Day

I had a good time during the day, my favorite part was the cattle farm at the end of the day. I enjoyed looking at the cows. The hormel tour was alright, but seeing all the pigs was kind of creepy!

Government Day

Going to the power plant I expected something different inside. Learning how power is made for our city was interesting.  I never knew how big it was inside either. After the power plant when we were talking to all the chair people it got a little slow but toward the end the speakers were more interesting for me. The mock meeting was also interesting to hear what council members can and can not do.

I was surprised with how much I actually enjoyed the agriculture day. I learned lots of new things, and I also knew a few things. At Hormel I never expected to see some of the things I saw. Watching how everything is made was interesting. Going to the farms were probably my favorite part. I never knew that farm past Arlington was there. I was also surprised with how many cows they day.

I thought it was cool to tour hormel and it was also fun to see the farms, although it was cold. I really enjoyed the tour of the cattle farm inside the bus!

I enjoyed last months YLA session especially touring the hospital because I had never been everywhere in the hospital before and the surgery room was really neat. (January Health and Wellness Day)

I enjoyed going to the Ymca.  The meetings about the new pool was something I enjoyed the most. I felt like I was getting involved and learning something that not many people know about. The class that we took with the elderly was a good time also. They had some funny things to say. I think they enjoyed our dancing too. Then when we went to the hospital it was interesting to see all the different rooms and sections they have. Most of the rooms I have never been in or around. (January Health and Wellness Day)

I enjoyed helping set up christmas decoration. The coloring was also fun. It was an activity that made me feel like a younger kid again but I liked it. Helping at the Salvation army was also fun. I never knew how many toys and canned goods they had. It was a blessing to help. I also liked the cookies we got at the end. The other thing I liked was getting a smile back at the end of the day from the workers at the Salvation Army.  The coloring, putting up the tree and helping others was the highlight of my day.  I enjoyed it all. (December Day of Service)

The day of service has been my favorite session so far.  I really enjoyed decorating Care Corps and helping with their holiday plans.  I also enjoyed ringing bells for the Salvation Army.  It was my first time ever ringing bells, but it was fun and I want to do again sometime in the future.  I am looking forward to see what our next session is like!

I couldn't find the link to the blog, so this is my blog post from last month: I'm glad we made progress on our projects and I liked helping moving all of the toys and food at the Salvation Army. (December Day of Service)

I had a great time at our December session.  It was fun coloring ornaments for the "Blessing Tree."  Although it was extremely cold, I also had a good time bell ringing; I was given hot chocolate by a kind citizen and it was a nice way to volunteer in the community.  I am exited to tour the hospital at our next session!

Health and Wellness

I thought that joining the class at the YMCA with the older people was a fun experience. It was also cool to tour the hospital, especially into the surgery room with the robot. It is exciting to know that the YMCA is adding on a new pool area for the community!

Health and Wellness Day

The tour of the hospital was interesting because I have not been inside of it much.  The Dale Carnegie training was fascinating.  We recapped all that we had talked about previously, and I enjoyed the learning experience that came with the training.  I cannot wait to learn about the agricultural businesses near Fremont next session.

Health & Wellness Day

I had a blast at the last session when we went to the YMCA and to the FAMC! I hadn't been to the YMCA for a while and it was interesting to see all of the day care center that they have. I also thought the ice arena was pretty cool because I hadn't skated their since Elementary School. The tour around the hospital was awesome! It was fun to see all of the different department that I didn't know our hospital had! It was another great session!

Service day

It was fun ringing the bells at Hyvee and seeing people get into the Christmas spirit. I enjoyed putting up the Christmas tree at care corps.
